The Erie Zoo Wildlife Carousel is located in Erie, PA. The universally accessible carousel features thirty (30) figures and two (2) stationary chariots that are ADA/Wheelchair Accessible.
A ticket will buy an exciting adventure on the back of any one of the representatives of the animal world, including a Rhinoceros, Wart Hog, Mandrill, Turkey, Dolphin, Zebra, Tiger, Chimpanzee, Black Jaguar and even a Giraffe with a monkey peaking out from under the saddle! Each figure is hand-carved from sustainable basswood and then intricately painted to make each figure come to life.
The Erie Zoo Carousel features a beautifully hand-painted mural highlighting the depiction of animals in their natural habitat. Twelve (12) rounding boards are positioned at the top of the outer perimeter of the carousel. The boards, each separated with intricate globe carvings, also are hand-painted works of art that illustrate more scenes of various animals in their natural surroundings.
A portion of the proceeds from the Carousel will help fund the Zoo’s ongoing conservation efforts. Riders of all ages can have fun taking a spin and knowing that they are bringing hope to endangered species |
