The Milhous Group Carousel is part of a private collection. The whimsical carousel features forty-two (42) figures and two (2) rocking animal chariots.
The Carousel is a testament to the craft of carving and workmanship. Each figure is ornately carved and painted with exquisite details that highlight the theme of each figure. Also included on this carousel are two (2) rocking chariots – an elegant Peacock and a charming Swan.
The carousel has a musical theme and features several touches of various musical instruments and symbols to decorate the Center Surround that is adorned with gold-leaf. Delightful cherubs playing a flute or a harp grace the mirrored shields located along the top of the carousel. Sixteen (16) Rounding Boards are positioned at the top of the outer perimeter of the carousel. The boards host glorious stained glass scenes that illuminate with the warm glow of the carousel lighting. |
