Richland Carrousel Park in Mansfield, OH opened in 1991 as the first new, hand- carved carousel to be built and operated in the United States since the 1930's. The Carousel figures were carved in the style of G.A. Dentzel, one of the most revered carvers of the early 1900's. There are 30 horses and 22 menagerie figures, including 4 bears, 4 ostriches, 4 cats, 4 rabbits, a goat, giraffe, lion, tiger, zebra and a mythical hippocampus. The hand-painted scenery panels atop the carousel beautifully depict past and present attractions in Mansfield. A Stinson Band Organ provides rousing music for carousel riders.

The Richland Carrousel Park has been a great anchor to the Mansfield community and draws people to Mansfield from miles around. The carousel stimulated the renovation of the entire downtown area and now the historic downtown business district is revitalized and business is booming again! With the Carrousel, unique shops, art galleries, & restaurants – the Historic Carrousel District in Downtown Mansfield has become a great destination.

Richland Carrousel Park, which is in a heated pavilion, is open 7 days a week and is handicapped accessible. The Carrousel also offers several special community events, such as Family Night every Friday, Christmas

at the Carrousel, Easter Egg Hunt at the Carrousel, as well as hosting birthday parties and even wedding receptions!
